Anticipation. It can sharpen the senses - heighten the experience. The downside is that unfortunately creates a situation where expectations aren't met. The first time I saw the trailer, I could barely contain myself. The guy behind Pitch Black, doing a wartime ghost story on a subamrine? How could I not love it. I spent days annoying people, sending them the link to the trailer (honestly, I could swear the one I saw was creepier than the one I linked to, but I went back and looked, and it was the same one), swearing up and down that this would rule. That was February.
Then came March. And April. And May. Month after month passed as I scanned the 'net and the papers looking for a sign about this movie. I became increasingly convinced I'd somehow missed it and it slipped by me. But then why wasn't it in the video stores, dammit?
Finally at the end of September, it surfaced, and snuck into theathers a few weeks later. And promptly snuck right out before I could get to see it. Finally, I've got it captured on DVD. 17 months of anticipation.
It is not a bad movie. But it didn't frighten me out of my wits like I had been hoping. ...errr... more to come...

I forgot to put the rice on, so we just went with the meat and salad and man was it fantastic. The mint was a nice taste in the salad. I may throw in some mozzarella in next time. If you don't want a bowl of leftovers after dinner for two, cut down the ingredients.
The rub was just about enough for two steaks and crusted nicely in the broiler. I worried the steak wasn't getting done enough so I flipped them over and had to replace the rub when I pulled off the steaks, but that may just be my old oven. It was delicious but I'd probably put in less salt next time.
Topped off with a Sebastiani Merlot. I'm not too good describing wines, but I was upset that I only got to drink half the bottle. :)
